Hi Richard, I enjoyed your post on cab apps a lot. I am currently developing one that would be free for both driver and customer and I’d love to discuss its features with some drivers. And please dont expext just to jump straight into the back of the cab when it stops. The polite way is to talk to the driver at the front window . Not the back of his head. If you have a preferred route tell the driver dont moan if you get stuck in traffic and say that the driver sould have taken another route he knows that too. Traffic costs the cabby money too . The best rate of pay is when the cab is moving.

Richard – Corporate account fares tend to be greater in value than cash work, more reliable and if you do night work, less likely to use the back of your cab as a toilet (especially this time of year!) Been reading the blog – some v interesting pieces. I’d be keen to have a chat and keep in touch.

Hi Neal – that’s interesting to hear, so you’ve gone the Hailo route then? On a more serious note, is the 10% uncapped? Previously you had a cap of £19/week, is that remaining? I’m sure you’ve thought all this through but I just don’t see why I would want to take a job from a service that charges me 10% of the fare when I can take a job off the street and keep all the fare. Maybe when it’s quiet and street work is quiet, but when it’s busy there’s no incentive for me to take a job I have to pay for.
